New Suburban League football foe Brecksville-Broadview Heights (BBH) were not kind hosts to the Bombers, blanking them 20-0 on a very strong defensive effort.

From the opening drive, Kenston struggled to do anything on offense against a stout Bee defense. The Bombers opened with a nice 27-yard kickoff return by Will Hamm but their ensuing drive stalled, ending in an Ethan Dennis punt.

BBH capitalized right away and hit a 51-yard pass play that setup a short touchdown to give them the early 7-0 lead.

Next, Kenston nailed three first downs on some nice runs by Hamm and Jackson Ehrenbeit but ultimately stalled out for another punt.

After several traded punts by each side, BBH scored in similar fashion from their first drive - a deep pass, followed by a short TD - to give them the 14-0 lead into halftime.

After Ethan Burge intercepted a Bee pass in the Kenston end zone, the Bombers strung together four first downs and looked primed to score. However, the BBH defense hunkered down and forced a turnover on downs nearing the end of the third quarter.

BBH would add another score in the fourth quarter to bring the game to the 20-0 close.

Quarterback Michael Cieslak spent the most time under center for Kenston and finished 9-for-14 for 103 yards passing.

Hamm led the ground game with 68 yards on 16 carries and Kahlil Hinton led the receiving effort with five receptions for 42 yards.

On defense, linebacker Teo Triscaro had perhaps his strongest game of his career, finishing with 11 tackles (8 solo), two tackles for a loss, and three hurries. Jake Rostocil also hit double digits in tackles with 10 and Tucker Meeks had eight tackles, two tackles for a loss, four hurries. and batted down a pass.

Kenston will next face Twinsburg on the road on September 25.
